Callus
Skin reacts to excessive pressure by thickening under the area causing the pressure. Oftentimes this is because of an imbalance in the bones and structure of the foot. A viral wart infection is often confused to be “just a callus”. Warts are an infectious disease. Evaluation and treatment by our Board Certified podiatrist Dr. Stanley J. Zawada is recommended.
Corn
Similar to a callus, a corn develops from excess pressure on or under the skin where to corn occurs. This excess pressure occurs typically because of an enlargement of the bone under the skin. Wearing tight shoes makes the problem worse. A wart, which is a contagious viral infection of the skin, can look very much like a corn. Evaluation and treatment by our Board Certified podiatrist Dr. Stanley J. Zawada is recommended.
Heel Pain
Heel pain of the foot is also very common. Pain in your heel with your first steps out of the bed in the morning, or pain in your heel after sitting for a time and getting up are common complaints. If you have this going on contact Dr. Stanley J. Zawada for a Board Certified evaluation of your symptoms.
Toenail Fungus
A fungal infection occurs because our feet are in a warm, dark, moist place most of the day: our shoes. Once a toenail has become infected with fungus its not easy to get rid of it. It is contagious. Treatment options depend on the individual and are best determined by our Board Certified Podiatrist, Dr. Stanley J. Zawada.
